Want to mount a billet KTuned shifter into your Accord/mid-gen Prelude? We have a bolt in answer to your problem!  We have come up with a solution for the installation of the shifter, and we even have created our own bespoke bracket to clear the factory center console!  Replace your worn out brass sleeved rubber push-in bushing shifter and bolt in new technology – getting rid of 20 years’ worth of wear from the OEM shift assembly.

Our kit was designed to fit CB Accords (90-93), CD Accords (94-97), CE Accords (94-97), and BB Preludes (92-96).

The Adapter Kit comes in 3 stages, depending on your needs.

 

Stage 1: Forward Mounting Plate

Our plates are waterjetted from a solid sheet of 3/16″ 5052 aluminum for both strength and resistance to rusting. Our plate has two 8mm bolts to locate the shifter, and two 12mm to hold it securely in place once positioned in your car.  Included in the kit is the plate with the FFC logo bonded in place, and all class 10.9 or 12.9 (12mm bolts, zinc coated washers) hardware required to properly secure your shifter at the forward mounting position.  

 

Stage 2: Rear Swivel Mounts

There really is no elegant solution to this one due to the placement of the bushings in the shifter versus the mounting holes in our tunnel, but we have found some swivels that seem to do the trick and offer solid mounting at the rear of the shifter.  Included are two, sealed steel swivel bearings, two 8mm cone adapters, and two grade 10.9 8mm bolts (not pictured, but included).

 

Stage 3: Shift Cable Sealing Plate

Tired of noxious fumes invading your interior?  Instead of chopping up your OEM cables and using 20 year old rubber, we have found a closed cell foam that compresses when installed, can be cut to shape, and is flame retardant, oil resistant, and restricts water, air, and gases from being absorbed.  It starts out .500” thick and will compress down to 25% of its original thickness.  Our plates for the cables are also waterjetted from a solid sheet of 3/16″ 5052 aluminum for those same rust inhibiting and strength properties.  This plate can be mounted from inside the car (underneath the OEM radio stack), or from underneath the car in the OEM position.  This option will include the plate itself, a square of foam to trim and fit to your liking, and two replacement class 10.9 6mm bolts to hold it in place.

 

Optional: Bespoke Shift Cable Bracket – to clear the OEM center console

 We were tired of every car having to cut up their center console just to fit the RSX shift cables, so we designed our own shift cable bracket.  It will fit the standard billet shifter (NOT the Race Spec version – a version for the Race Spec shifter is in development), and is a bolt in replacement.  It lowers the main shift cable position just enough to maintain clearance with the OEM center console.  Hole placement is between the top and middle holes, relative the 3 hole bracket, and has been tested on multiple cars for several thousand miles.  It was found to be a good balance of throw and shortness.  The second portion of the kit are our replacement bolts.  The all aluminum bolts included with the shifter we have found to be weak in structure and easily strippable.  Our bolts are class 10.9, with heat treated sleeves added to increase strength exponentially over the supplied units.  We also have sized ours to be able to add a securing nut on the end of the bolt for a nice double shear setup for your shift cable ends.  Included is our custom bracket, two replacement bolts with heat treated sleeves, and two nuts.
